Pahrump Hot Air Balloon Festival: The annual event is set for noon Feb. 26 and 8 a.m. Feb. 27 and 28 at Petrack Park, 150 state Route 160, in Pahrump, about 60 miles west of Las Vegas. The family-friendly festival is set to bring together more than 20 hot air balloon pilots from the western states, music, entertainment, food, arts and crafts, and more. Events are scheduled throughout the three days, including glow balloon events. Color Run: The fifth annual event, dubbed the "Happiest 5K on the Planet, is set for 8 a.m. Feb, 27 in downtown Las Vegas, with a portion of the proceeds to benefit Three Square food bank. Runners, walkers or sprinters of all ages and athletic abilities will be bathed in an array of colors and island scents as they cruise through a scene of palm trees, vibrant arches and festive music. Upon finishing, Color Runners can celebrate at the Rainbow Beach during the Finish Festival with a color throw celebration, music, dancing and photo opportunities.
