Authorities in the Australian state of Queensland will ban the display of Nazi symbols in the region, Prime Minister of the state, Anastasia Palaschuk, noted.

Public display of symbols associated with Nazi ideology will be banned in Queensland under new anti-extremism laws [expected to be passed by local parliament by 1 August 2022]. Nazism is evil, and the crimes dictated by such an ideology are far from harmless, the prime minister said in a statement published on the state government website.

Palaschuk noted that in the next few weeks, the authorities of the region will hold the necessary consultations with both lawyers and public organizations so that the ban on Nazi symbols comes into force in the second half of 2022.
